Automotive Porter Job Description

The role of Automotive Porter is to provide a high level of cleanliness and detailing to our vehicles, ensuring they are presented in the best possible condition for sale or return to customers.

As an Automotive Porter, you will be responsible for moving vehicles between lots or areas as directed, cleaning and detailing vehicles to company standards, driving vehicles to and from repair or delivery area, and parking vehicles in designated areas.

You will also be required to report any suspicious or missing parts or problems to your supervisor, maintain security of all keys, and maintain accurate records and inventory.

In addition, you will assist with basic repair and maintenance tasks as necessary, and provide excellent customer service and communication skills to internal and external stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Move dealership vehicles between lots or areas as directed
  • Clean and detail vehicles to company standards
  • Drive vehicles to and from repair or delivery area
  • Park vehicles in designated areas
  • Report any suspicious or missing parts or problems to supervisor
  • Maintain security of all keys
  • Maintain accurate records and inventory
  • Assist with basic repair and maintenance tasks as necessary

Requirements:

  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record
  • Ability to lift up to 75 lbs and maneuver large vehicles safely
  • Ability to use basic hand and power tools
  • Attention to detail and accuracy
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills
