Personal Care Specialist

  • Medication Management, Seizure management, Pain management, Dementia Training, Moving and handling /hoist and re-positioning, Skin integrity management, Professional boundaries/ Confidentiality, Working in the home environment/lone worker, Infection control and disposal of clinical waste, CPR
Responsibilities:Key Accountabilities:
  • Administer medication as prescribed by medical professionals
  • Manage client's seizure episodes to prevent injuries
  • Assess and address pain needs to ensure optimal comfort
  • Develop dementia care plans to cater for clients' unique needs
  • Support clients with safe mobility and handling using hoists and equipment
  • Monitor skin integrity and implement prevention strategies to prevent pressure ulcers
  • Maintain professional boundaries and confidentiality at all times
  • Work independently in clients' homes providing one-on-one care
  • Implement infection control measures to prevent the spread of infections
  • Perform CPR if required in an emergency situation
Requirements:
  • Hold a current NMBI pin
  • Be willing to undergo training and development programs
  • Undergo Garda Vetting prior to employment
  • Register with the INMO or affiliated union
  • Provide proof of full immunizations and vaccination history
