The Beacon Hospital Group is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Senior Medical Laboratory Scientist to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced professional to take on a leadership role in our laboratory department.
About the Role
We are looking for a medical laboratory scientist with a strong background in histology to fill this key position. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting in the routine processing and coordination of the laboratory service, ensuring that all tests are performed to the required INAB and JCI accreditation standards.
Main Responsibilities
This role will require you to work closely with the laboratory management team to implement quality management programs that prioritize patient-centered care and measure performance against established metrics. You will also be responsible for performing scientific work, prioritizing tasks during busy periods, and coordinating multiple concurrent testing projects.
You will facilitate research projects, participate in training and development opportunities, and engage with other hospital departments to ensure seamless collaboration and delivery of high-quality services.
Key Skills and Qualifications
To succeed in this role, you will need to possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills, as well as a strong understanding of quality control criteria and accreditation standards. Familiarity with laboratory information systems and current health and safety legislation is also essential.
You should have a proven track record of adaptability, flexibility, and a dedication to delivering exceptional patient care. A postgraduate qualification in a relevant field and registration with CORU or equivalent is also required.
