Job Title: Laboratory Technician

We are seeking a highly skilled Laboratory Technician to join our team. This is a full-time, permanent role based in Charleville, Co. Cork.

The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting testing and analysis on product samples to ensure that quality standards are met.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conducting laboratory tests and analysing raw materials, work-in-progress (WIP) and finished product samples.
  • Ensuring all laboratory activities are carried out in accordance with Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) and internal requirements.
  • Assisting with maintaining the laboratory stock levels of consumables necessary for required analyses.
  • Recording data relevant to each test, results, and keeping all records up-to-date, clear and legible.
  • Performing basic instrument calibration, maintenance, and completion of associated records.
  • Preparing swabs and environmental swabbing and testing.
  • Managing shelf-life samples.
  • Collaborating with production and quality teams on root cause analysis.
  • Maintaining the laboratory in a clean and well-organised status.
  • Participating in audits (internal and external) and inspections.
Requirements:
  • A science-based degree in a relevant area, such as Food Science, Nutrition, Biology, or Analytical Chemistry, or relevant laboratory experience.
  • Good standard of PC literacy (Excel, Word) - SAP would be an advantage.
  • An analytical and logical approach with excellent attention to detail.
  • A keen interest in food science and food safety.
  • The ability to thrive under pressure and work effectively within a fast-paced environment.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Flexibility and a willingness to learn.
