, Job Description
The Person in Charge will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our residential services, working closely with colleagues to deliver exceptional care to service users. Key responsibilities include:

• Ensuring the needs of service users are met through effective communication, coordination, and collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
• Teaching daily living and social skills to service users through various activities and interventions.
• Establishing and maintaining positive relationships with service users, built on trust, respect, and empathy.
• Engaging in household tasks and contributing to a clean and safe living environment.
• Maintaining accurate records of service user documentation, adhering to regulatory requirements and organizational policies.
• Completing other tasks as required, aligned with the organization's goals and objectives.

, Required Skills and Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will need:

• A degree in Applied Social Studies or Social Care, or a relevant qualification, with eligibility for CORU registration or current registration with CORU.
• Minimum 3 years' experience working with adults or children with intellectual disabilities, demonstrating your ability to empathize and connect with service users.
• Proven managerial skills, including at least 3 years of management experience and a suitable management qualification (e.g., QQI Level 6).
• Ability to work independently and supervise staff and service users in a residential setting.
• Experience managing budgets and resources effectively, prioritizing efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
• Familiarity with managing behaviors that challenge, adopting a person-centered approach to de-escalation techniques and crisis management.
• Excellent communication, organization, and interpersonal skills, facilitating effective collaboration with colleagues, families, and healthcare professionals.
• Possession of a full manual driving license, enabling you to transport service users safely and efficiently.
