Personal Support Specialist

This role involves providing person-centred care and support to residents with an intellectual disability, ABI, or Autism.
The successful candidate will work collaboratively as part of a Multi-Disciplinary Team in service delivery, reporting to the person in charge and supervising other staff under their direction.
Key Responsibilities:- Act as key worker for named Residents where appropriate.
- Provide support to Residents with their daily plan.
- Support Residents with their individual goals and education.
- Assist Residents with their living skills, e.g. cooking, cleaning, laundry, attending appointments, family visits etc.
- Part of the on-floor duty team and may be responsible for coordination of the shift whilst on duty.
- Must hold a qualification at Level 7 or above that meets the criteria to be registered as a Social Care Worker.
- Knowledge of quality assurance practice and its application to service provision.
- Experience working in a residential, respite or day service setting with persons with an intellectual disability.
- Knowledge of Person Centred Planning.
- Knowledge of clinical and human resource policies and procedures and relevant legislation.
- Knowledge of National Disability Standards.
