We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical and Electrical Infrastructure Specialist to join our team and contribute to the delivery of our vision.
The successful candidate will work closely with our Operations Manager to develop and implement plans for the management of our campus infrastructure. This will involve working with internal and external stakeholders to ensure the effective delivery of our estate strategy.
Main Responsibilities
- Infrastructure Design: Develop and implement plans for the management of campus infrastructure, including utilities distribution, water, foul and gas infrastructure systems.
- Project Delivery: Deliver mechanical & electrical building infrastructure asset replacements and upgrade projects in accordance with established procedures and deadlines.
- Compliance and Risk: Ensure that all building services comply with relevant regulations and standards, including Health and Safety and ISO50001.
- Financial Management: Assist with the development and management of the Estates Operating and Capex budgets, produce regular reports to ensure service level agreements and contracts are being carried out in line with agreed standards.
- Technical Assistance: Provide technical assistance in response and resolution to routine Estates Office helpdesk requests on Campus.
- Installation and Maintenance: Monitor the installation of building services and infrastructure and design appropriate maintenance plans once new buildings are completed ensuring compliance with existing campus infrastructure, relevant regulations and standards.
- Negotiation and Liaison: Negotiate contracts with consultants and contractors to ensure works are carried out within budget and liaise with internal and external stakeholders to ensure operational requirements are included in all building interruption and infrastructure connection plans.
- Legionella Prevention: Act as day to day point of contact on behalf of the Director of Estates for management, control and prevention of Legionella Bacteria across the University.
- Snag List and Asset Replacement: Maintain a snag list and rolling asset replacement requirements of all building service and infrastructure requirements across all buildings.
- Capital Projects Support: Support the Capital Projects Team through provision of technical expertise throughout procurement, construction and handover of new build and building refurbishment projects.
