As a Finance Assistant, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the financial operations of the organization. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Managing cash books with precision and accuracy.
  • Processing petty cash payments with efficiency.
  • Preparing journals for input into financial systems.
  • Conducting petty cash inspections and reconciling bank accounts.
  • Liaising with internal staff and external stakeholders, including banks.
  • Assisting in audits and generating ad hoc reports.
  • Contributing to the development and implementation of financial policies and procedures.

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • A minimum of 5 GCSEs (or equivalent) at Grade C or above, including English and Maths.
  • At least one year's experience in a busy finance office.
  • Proven experience in reconciliation work (bank and petty cash).
  • Familiarity with accounting packages and Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to process high volumes of work.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines.
  • A team-oriented mindset and willingness to support other areas of the finance department.
