As a Senior Cloud Engineer, you will play a key role in designing and implementing cloud-based solutions on the Google Cloud Platform as part of a multicloud environment.You will be responsible for delivering high-quality, resilient, scalable and secure solutions that meet business requirements.Key Responsibilities
  • Design and implement Google Cloud core infrastructure and resources to support our business.
  • Automate infrastructure provisioning and management using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and CI/CD DevSecOps tools.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot cloud environments ensuring high availability and performance.
  • Work with Information Security to implement and manage security best practices, including access control, data encryption and threat detection.
  • Collaborate with development teams to integrate cloud solutions with existing applications and systems.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest Google Cloud technologies and industry best practices.
  • Participate in the evaluation and selection of new cloud-based technologies and services.
  • Contribute to the improvement of cloud operations and processes.
Requirements
  • Strong understanding of cloud computing concepts and their Google Cloud implementation including networking, storage and security as well as other concepts such as SaaS, PaaS and IaaS.
  • Experience and understanding of enterprise patterns and best practices around building out GCP for a regulated organisation (e.g. Landing Zones, Enterprise foundations blueprint, network and connectivity options, etc.).
  • Proven experience with DevSecOps practices (e.g. Git, CI/CD) and tools such as Google Cloud DevOps, Cloud Build, GitHub Enterprise and GitLab.
  • Strong proficiency with Terraform (IaC), Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Solid understanding of Google Cloud Identity and Access Management (IAM) and Role-Based Access Control (RBAC).
  • Experience with scripting languages, e.g. PowerShell, Bash and Python.
  • Strong communications and collaboration skills with the ability to produce clear documentation in corporate Wiki tools.
  • Experience with other Cloud services such as Microsoft Azure and AWS is a strong plus.
