Job DescriptionThe successful candidate for the role of Senior Administrative Manager will oversee the day-to-day management of the County Committee's activities, developing and implementing a strategic vision to meet the challenges faced by the Association.
Location: Sligo GAA County Offices
This role reports directly to the Office of the Ard Stiúrthóir, with a secondary reporting relationship with the Chairperson of the County Committee.
Key Responsibilities- Direct the Human Resources functions to support the management and supervision of full-time and part-time personnel.
- Implement best-in-class governance structures in Sligo GAA, ensuring transparency, integrity, accountability, and reporting standards are met.
- Collaborate with the County Chairperson in implementing the 5-Year Strategic Plan, including producing an annual operations plan and framework for effective team operation.
- Support the designated County Officer(s) in planning fixtures for all codes, ensuring a balanced program of games for Child, Youth, and Adult players. Responsible for operating the Competition System and liaising with the County CCC and other committees.
- Advises on the implementation of information technology and improved systems of communication to enhance the work of the County Executive.
- Direct the financial services and operations, ensuring compliance with best practice guidelines in terms of governance and accountability.
- Develop and manage annual budgets in collaboration with stakeholders.
- Manage day-to-day financial operations, including accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and cash flow management.
- Monitor financial performance against budget and provide recommendations for improvement as necessary.
- Coordinate Capital Development works in conjunction with the Management Committee.
- Administer county grounds and the Inter County Player Injury Scheme financially.
- Ensure compliance with relevant financial regulations and standards.
- Identify and develop commercial opportunities (including fundraising) on behalf of Sligo GAA through marketing initiatives and building relationships with external parties and businesses.
- Develop and maximize the commercial potential of the Sligo GAA Centre of Excellence.
- Pursue additional revenue through funding opportunities in conjunction with the County Treasurer.
- Support the County Executive in implementing Capital Development Projects, including upgrading Markievicz Park GAA Grounds and Scarden Centre of Excellence, and securing grant funding for various projects.
- Establish strong communications with Ard Comhairle and associated county, provincial, and national bodies.
- Develop and train a cohesive officer team focused on delivering excellence in administration and games development within the county.
- Build key lines of communication with Clubs, Schools, and community groups to promote the Gaelic Games effectively.
- Act as a conduit between County Executive and Sub-committees, maintaining key lines of communication and building relationships with stakeholders and agencies.
- Provide leadership, management, decision-making, and organizational skills to enhance County Executive operations.
