Home Care Assistant Job Role

This role involves supporting individuals with personal and practical care tasks such as dressing, washing, toileting and light household work. You will ensure the dignity, privacy and independence of the Carer and Cared for Person are maintained and respected at all times.

You will provide companionship to the Cared for Person and complete accurate weekly activity sheets and other mandatory records as assigned. We expect you to maintain confidentiality and adhere to our organisational values.

Terms and Conditions

We pay competitive hourly rates of €14.70 per hour, plus paid travel time and mileage rate 30 cent per km. You will also receive half hour and premium rates for Sundays and Bank Holidays, annual leave entitlement 8% of hours worked subject to a maximum of four working weeks per annum and access to a confidential Employee Assistance Programme.

Qualifications and Experience

  1. At least 1-year experience providing quality care.
  2. Hold at least 2 QQI Healthcare modules - Care Skills & Care of the Older Person, and be working towards achieving a full major award.
  3. Level 5 qualification desirable, preferably QQI recognised or obtained from Allied Health Therapy.
  4. Up to date Patient Moving & Handling certificate.
  5. Satisfactory Garda Vetting.
