Senior Research Position

This is a highly coveted opportunity for an accomplished researcher to lead the design and implementation of an impact evaluation that is a central component of the ACACIA project.

The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in this process, working closely with Dr. Thomas K.J. McDermott and other esteemed researchers.

Duties:
  • Conduct thorough research on the economics of climate adaptation and risk.
  • Design and implement an impact evaluation (in the form of a randomized controlled trial).
  • Complete a research ethics application at the University of Galway.
  • Participate in field work in Madagascar.
  • Provide expert research support and guidance to the team involved in data gathering.
  • Carry out high-quality data analysis.
Eligibility Requirements:
  • Hold a PhD in Economics or Agricultural Economics, Political Science, or a related field.
  • Possess advanced quantitative methodological knowledge and/or experience.
  • Have a thematic focus on development, ideally with experience working on climate adaptation and risk among vulnerable communities.
  • Experience with randomised control trials (RCTs) in the field is highly desirable.
  • Excellent writing and communication skills in English are essential.
