Job Overview

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Systems Engineer to join our team. As part of the AWS Managed Operations team, you will play a pivotal role in building and leading operations and development teams dedicated to delivering high-availability AWS services.

About the Role
  • You will oversee the launch of the European Sovereign Cloud (ESC) in 2025, working closely with global AWS teams.
  • You will influence the evolution of AWS services and technology, collaborating with technology leaders and contributing to the enhancement of day-to-day operations.
  • You will ensure improvements in availability, reliability, latency, performance, and efficiency of the ESC.
Responsibilities

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Leading the creation, revision, and/or improvement of standard operational procedures (SOPs).
  • Driving operational best practices.
  • Troubleshooting and anticipating problems that affect the performance, reliability, or availability of software systems.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • 9+ years of systems engineering experience, working with hardware, software, networking, operating systems.
  • Experience with scripting processes in a language such as Bash, Python, or Ruby.
  • Experience troubleshooting and anticipating problems that affect the performance, reliability, or availability of software systems.
