Senior Environmental Hydrologist - Opportunity for Excellence

This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in the assessment, management, and modelling of surface water and groundwater systems in support of infrastructure, environmental, and development projects across Ireland.


About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Environmental Hydrologist to contribute to a wide range of projects, working closely with engineers, planners, ecologists, and other environmental professionals.


Main Responsibilities:
  • Conduct hydrological and hydrogeological assessments for EIAs, FRAs, and water resource projects, utilising expertise in HEC-HMS, SWMM, Infoworks ICM, or MIKE SHE.
  • Analyse rainfall-runoff data, groundwater levels, and flow monitoring data to inform project decisions.
  • Liaise with project teams to deliver high-quality results and ensure compliance with Irish and EU environmental regulations.
  • Develop and maintain technical reports, planning documentation, and client presentations to communicate findings effectively.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Hydrology, Environmental Science, Civil Engineering, or related field, with relevant experience in environmental or engineering hydrology.
  • Strong analytical, numerical, and report writing skills, with proficiency in hydrological modelling software and GIS (ArcGIS or QGIS).
  • Understanding of Irish water legislation, flood risk guidelines (OPW CFRAM, FRM), and EPA methodologies.
  • Chartered status (or working towards) with CIWEM, IEI, or equivalent.
