This is a Geotechnical/Civil Engineer position for Data Centre Design in EMEA.
We are seeking an experienced geotechnical engineer to join our data centre design team in Dublin, Ireland.
The successful candidate will lead geotechnical designs for data centres substations and grid connections that power our AWS DCs in the Europe, Middle East & Africa (EMEA) geography.
- Management of geotechnical design packages for data centre campuses, HV/MV substation, and grid connection projects;
- Create, review, and release RFP's for external design consultants
- Work within a multidisciplinary design team on developing site layouts during data centre masterplanning design;
- Manage our external CSA design consultants through the design and construction administration phases of projects;
You will be part of a highly creative and efficient design team comprised of architects, engineers, and designers tasked with solving problems and challenging the status quo.
AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. We support all AWS data centers and all of the servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment that ensure our customers have continual access to the innovation they rely on.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead geotechnical designs for data centres substations and grid connections;
- Manage geotechnical design packages for data centre campuses;
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams on site layouts development;
- Manage external design consultants through design and construction administration;
We require:
- Honours degree in Geotechnical, Civil or Structural Engineering from an accredited school;
- Postgraduate qualification in Geotechnical engineering;
- +5 years experience in geotechnical engineering;
- Proficiency in building codes, regulations, and standards including Eurocodes;
