Lead a Commercial Underwriting Team

This is an exciting opportunity to lead and manage a high-performing team of underwriters and support staff within the commercial lines space.

  • The ideal candidate will oversee the smooth day-to-day running of the department, ensuring effective management and development of the team.
  • Key responsibilities include leading weekly underwriting meetings, contributing at board level, and chairing key discussions.
  • Additionally, you will be responsible for managing broker relationships, including authority for signing off larger discounts.
Required Skills:
  • Strong background in commercial underwriting across a range of products.
  • Proven experience in managing or leading underwriting teams.
  • Excellent broker relationship and negotiation skills.
  • Commercially aware, with the ability to contribute to product development and departmental strategy.
  • Strong organisational and reporting skills are also essential.
