About the Opportunity

We hire students majoring in engineering into our programs based on business needs.

Ideal candidates will combine technical and business knowledge with analytical strength and creative problem-solving abilities.

The global nature of our business offers opportunities to work across a range of fields including:

  • Packing Compliance Project: Support daily compliance activities and lead smaller initiatives contributing to the broader Compliance Improvement Project.
  • Site Zoning & Sustainability Project: Assist with engineering, facilities, and utility-related tasks focused on zoning and sustainability enhancements across the site.
  • Support and optimize manufacturing operations through oversight of operating systems, use of digital tools, system upgrades, and process efficiency improvements related to spare parts and consumables.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives by developing dashboards, leading cross-functional projects, ensuring compliance with policies, and contributing to areas like fermentation development and resource utilization across the business.

What We're Looking For

We are seeking eligible applicants who are available for a 6, 9 or 12-month placement to start between January to June (aligned with academic work placements dates).

Internship placements may be during or at the end of your undergraduate or postgraduate course.

We require candidates pursuing a relevant third-level undergraduate or postgraduate engineering qualification with a minimum of a 2.1 Grade in their undergraduate course.

Candidates must be excellent communicators, team players, and innovators.

We are passionate about STEM and interested in pursuing a career in a STEM environment.

A flexible and innovative approach to work is essential.

Candidates must be willing to be based at one of our Abbott sites listed.
