As an academic leader, we are seeking a highly qualified professional to join our team as Assistant Professor/Lecturer in Economics. The successful candidate will have a proven track record of teaching, research and publication, with a strong ability to contribute to the teaching programme of the Department.

The appointee will be expected to build a robust research profile that supports the University's research strategy, including affiliating with relevant Research Institutes and collaborating with colleagues on national and international research projects. They will also be expected to engage in scholarship of quality and substance, generating publications of international standard.

The successful candidate will have:

  • A PhD in Economics; applicants nearing completion of their PhD may also be considered;
  • A strong track record of excellent research in Economics, including having co-authored significant research publication outcomes (other than PhD) and/or demonstrated potential to become a significant contributor in their field;
  • A productive research network;
  • Experience of and demonstrated commitment to undergraduate and postgraduate teaching, programme development and innovation;
  • An ability to design, deliver and assess a range of Economics modules inside and outside of their area of research expertise;

The ideal candidate will be able to make a strong contribution to the Department's research and teaching activities, while also demonstrating a commitment to academic innovation and excellence.
