Position Overview

We are seeking a seasoned Senior Cost Manager to join our team in Dublin. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing cost management strategies, managing project budgets, and providing financial analysis to support effective decision-making.

Responsibilities

  1. Cost Strategy Development: Develop and implement cost management strategies to ensure accurate budgeting and forecasting.
  2. Project Budgeting: Manage project budgets, forecasts, and governance papers to ensure alignment with business objectives.
  3. Cost Control: Implement, administer, and maintain cost control systems and procedures to track project budgets, commitments, expenditures, and forecasts.
  4. Risk Management: Support the risk team by providing cost information for change notices and underpinning forecasts.
  5. Financial Reporting: Provide regular updates on cost control initiatives and financial performance.
  6. Trend Analysis: Identify trends and variances to budgets and forecasts through financial analysis and provide recommendations to support effective decision-making.
  7. Reporting: Develop reporting tracking tools and generate cost reports on a regular basis.
  8. Regulatory Compliance: Lead financial reporting for regulatory submissions.
  9. Team Development: Train and coach less experienced team members on cost control processes and practices.

Requirements

  1. Quantity Surveying Qualification: Possess a qualification in Quantity Surveying with 10+ years' working experience in cost management on large capital programs.
  2. Collaborative Working: Ability to work within a multi-disciplinary team while ensuring that all cost management tasks are conducted in a timely and accurate manner.
  3. Technical Skills: Proficient in MS Office (all packages) and knowledge of project financial and cost management systems.
  4. Commercial Awareness: Strong commercial background and financial awareness including monitoring and co-ordination of budgets.
  5. Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong analytical ability. Strong ability to multitask, prioritize, and work well under pressure to meet established deadlines.
  6. Attention to Detail: Excellent attention to detail to track costs and financial reporting.
  7. Data Analysis: Experience working with complex data sets and performing cost benefit analysis.
  8. Project Governance: Good understanding of project governance and regulatory reporting.
  9. Leadership Skills: Ability to develop long-term relationships with all team members, and effectively balance people and processes.
  10. Mentorship: Previous experience of managing resources including mentoring of more junior staff members.
