Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Policy Manager to join our team. As a key member of our Policy and Research team, you will be responsible for shaping and advancing policies that support the growth and development of the wind energy sector.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in policy development, with a focus on planning and consenting systems for both onshore and offshore wind. They will also have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with internal and external stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the development of policy to promote wind energy and other enabling technologies in Ireland and at European level.
  • Monitor policy developments relating to consenting renewable energy and grid, and proactively identify key opportunities, risks, and issues relating to the wind energy industry.
  • Represent the organization in interactions with Government agencies, policymakers, members, and other stakeholders.
Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need to have:

  • A legal, planning, environmental, or energy-related third-level qualification.
  • At least 6 years' experience working in a policy or research role, preferably in an advocacy environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to produce clear, succinct reports and presentations.
  • Experience in managing teams and/or large projects or programmes of work.
  • Ability to motivate, empower, and collaborate with others, promoting a culture where others feel ownership.
