Job Overview
As a Data Center Technician, you will be responsible for troubleshooting technical issues on advanced hardware, maintaining system reliability and availability, participating in projects to enhance operational efficiencies, and sharing knowledge with our global network of technical experts.
Key Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot technical issues on advanced hardware, ranging from servers, storage, and networking devices.
- Maintain a high level of system reliability and availability.
- Participate in projects to enhance operational efficiencies.
- Share knowledge and help train less technical staff on best practices related to all service owner issues.
- Contribute towards building a great team by getting involved in the Amazon hiring process/candidate interviews.
Basic Qualifications
- Solid understanding of Linux/Unix Administration.
- Server Hardware Troubleshooting experience.
- Server Booting: POST, BIOS, PXE, Kickstart, GRUB/LILO, RAID.
- Some experience with Network Protocols: TCP/IP, Ethernet, L2/L3 technologies.
- Network Hardware: Copper and Optical Fiber Cabling, Switches, Routers.
- Strong Communication Skills.
- Passionate about IT infrastructure and hardware.
