Job Overview

CPL is a leading company in the medical devices industry, seeking an experienced Electronics Design and Development Professional to join our team. As a key member of our engineering department, you will play a vital role in designing and developing innovative medical devices that improve patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, develop, build, and test current and next-generation medical devices.
  • Support product development from concept generation through to post-production, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Participate in prototyping, testing, and validation activities, including electromagnetic compatibility (EMC), wireless coexistence, safety, reliability validation, and performance testing.
  • Provide technical support to manufacturing teams, optimizing existing processes and ensuring production goals are met.
  • Develop and validate custom printed circuit board assembly (PCBA) test equipment for our products.
  • Analyze hardware failures from the field, participating in corrective and preventive actions.
  • Perform necessary design activities using CAD software, such as Spice, Altium, and Matlab.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Degree in Electrical or Electronic Engineering or similar discipline, with 3+ years' medical device industry experience in a product development or manufacturing role.
  • Fundamental electronics knowledge, including experience in digital and low-noise analog circuits.
  • Programming languages C and C++, embedded hardware fundamentals related to Microcontrollers, and popular interfaces like Bluetooth, UART.
  • Liaising with PCB fabricators and PCBA vendors, understanding relevant IPC standards for surface mount technology (SMT).
  • Excellent analytical skills, problem-solving abilities, and self-motivation.
  • A good understanding of quality management system principles, FDA quality system regulation processes, and EU MDR.
  • Team player with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
