Job Description

As a key player in our organization, you will have the opportunity to shape the future of privacy and data protection in the biotechnology and pharmaceutical industries.

A pivotal role that leads innovative strategies while ensuring compliance with European data protection laws.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Advising on a wide range of data privacy and related issues across clinical research, commercial marketing, patient support, cybersecurity, and AI.
  • Collaborating with internal stakeholders to assess and mitigate privacy risks in new initiatives and projects.
  • Monitoring current and emerging data privacy regulations and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Supporting the implementation of privacy laws across Europe, including operationalizing GDPR requirements.
  • Educating teams on data protection obligations under GDPR and other applicable laws.
  • Serving as the primary contact for data privacy authorities while coordinating with the business and Chief Privacy Officer.
  • Managing external counsel, consultants, and internal resources to ensure effective program execution.

Role Requirements

  • Possess strong expertise in GDPR and its application within the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry.
  • Thrive in collaborative environments and can build strong relationships across all levels of an organization.
  • Have exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, and can translate complex legal concepts into actionable business counsel.
  • Demonstrate a high level of business acumen and can effectively influence and drive change.
  • Are eager to take on a leadership role in a fast-paced, dynamic, and challenging field.
  • To be considered, you must be admitted to practice law in the relevant jurisdiction with a minimum of 7-10 years of legal experience, including a minimum of 4 years in privacy-related roles.
  • You must have a background in biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, or related life sciences.
  • Fluency in English is mandatory, additional languages and experience in US or multinational companies are preferred.
