**Role Overview:**
A challenging and dynamic opportunity exists for a Radio Radar Technician to join our team. As a key member of our maritime operations department, you will be responsible for the maintenance, repair, and operation of critical communications, radar, and electronic navigation systems on naval vessels and shore-based facilities.
About the Role:
You will play a vital part in ensuring the readiness and operational efficiency of naval systems, supporting vital operations at sea and on land. Leading Radio Radar Technicians (L/RRTs) will be trained to assume the responsibilities of Petty Officers (PO), managing the installation, operation, maintenance, and repair of all onboard communication and navigation equipment.
Key Responsibilities:*
- Maintenance and repair of communications, radar, and electronic navigation systems.
- Installation and operation of onboard communication and navigation equipment.
- Participation in emergency response and damage control duties, including firefighting and other exercises.
- Management of technical documentation and records.
Requirements:
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Citizenship: Irish citizen or legally entitled to work in Ireland.
- Character & Fitness: Must meet medical, physical, and security clearance standards.
- Age: Applicants must be between 18 and 39 years of age on the date of application.
- Qualifications: B. Eng in Electronic Engineering (HETAC Level 7), B. Eng in Marine Electrotechnology (HETAC Level 7), or a national equivalent, subject to review and approval by the Naval Service Recruitment Process.
Benefits:
This role offers a competitive salary package, including:
- Basic Salary: €49,543 with yearly increments.
- Naval Service Allowance: Approx. €20,570.
- Overseas Service Allowance: Starting at €15,000 per annum, in addition to your salary.
