The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Industrial Hygienist to join our Safety, Health & Environment (SHE) team in Swords.

This role provides expert support across operations and departments, reporting to the SHE Director.

  • Lead exposure monitoring programmes, conduct sampling, reports, and validations.
  • Support New Product Introduction (NPI) with risk assessments and banding.
  • Ensure chemical compliance through audits, labelling checks, and awareness.
  • Manage ergonomics programmes, manual handling, and DSE assessments.
  • Advise on projects, equipment, and facility compliance.
  • Oversee safety programmes: hazardous substances, transport of dangerous goods, respiratory/hearing, asbestos, legionella, laser/radiation, and occupational health.
  • Deliver training & awareness on SHE/IH programmes.
  • Act as SME and contact point for incidents, audits, and compliance reviews.

Requirements

Minimum:

  • BSc in a scientific discipline.
  • Qualification (or working towards) in Industrial/Occupational Hygiene.
  • Proven IH/occupational hygiene exposure assessments experience.
  • Pharmaceutical manufacturing background.
  • Handling/containment of APIs & HPAPIs.
  • IH sampling plan development & field sampling.

Desirable:

  • Occupational Toxicology training.
  • Ergonomic & DSE assessments.
  • Regulatory audit/authority experience.
  • Plant/equipment qualification.
