Prescription Order Entry Specialist

We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical individual to join our team as a Prescription Order Entry Specialist. The successful candidate will be responsible for accurately entering prescriptions into our system, communicating with nurses at facilities concerning clarifications or requests, and ensuring that all orders are processed in a timely and accurate manner.

  • Input prescription orders for medicinal agents, oral, topical, parenteral, etc. in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Communicate effectively with healthcare professionals to resolve any issues or concerns related to patient care.
  • Maintain accurate records of all transactions, including prescription orders, refills, and cancellations.
  • Work collaboratively with the pharmacy team to ensure seamless communication and coordination of patient care.
Requirements:
  • Diploma or certificate in pharmacy technology or a related field is an asset.
  • Proficiency in computer software applications, including Microsoft Office and Epic Systems.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks efficiently.
  • Knowledge of pharmacy regulations and guidelines is an asset.
