Sprintax, a leading provider of international taxation services, is seeking a highly experienced Tax Specialist to join their team in Dublin or Kilkenny.

Job Overview

This is a hybrid role that requires the successful candidate to work closely with the current Sprintax Dividend team, focusing on dividend withholding tax (DWT) recovery and tax relief-at-source processes. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in operational tax services, preferably at a custodian bank or broker.

Key Responsibilities
  • Determine Best Practices: Develop and document best practices for DWT tax recovery and upfront DWT relief procedures across 15 investment countries: Australia, Austria, Belgium, Canada, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Ireland, Netherlands, Norway, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, and UK.
  • Team Supervision: Oversee staff members who compile, verify, and file DWT refund applications for clients, ensuring they understand the Certificate of Tax Residence process.
  • Quality Assurance: Establish quality assurance criteria for the DWT team to ensure compliance with relevant procedures and timely delivery of high-quality responses to client inquiries.
  • Reporting: Provide regular reporting to management on team performance and progress.
  • Liaison: Liaise with taxation authorities, sub-custodians, transfer agents, and financial institutions to stay updated on operational tax developments globally.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A minimum of five years' experience in operational tax services, preferably at a custodian bank or broker, with a focus on DWT-related tax experience.
  • A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Banking, Business, Finance, or Tax.
  • An entrepreneurial approach to working in a small team.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent spoken and written English skills, including grammar, spelling, and pronunciation.
  • Computer literacy, including knowledge of Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
