Job Title: Food Service Attendant


Overview of the Job

We are seeking an experienced Food Service Attendant to join our team at a 4-star city centre hotel in Waterford. The ideal candidate must be available mid-week, mornings, evenings, and weekends.


The hotel is superbly located overlooking the Marina and Reginald's Tower, with easy access to shopping and entertainment hot spots, as well as the premier business district.


As a member of our hospitality team, you will focus on providing the highest standards of service and quality to all our guests, ensuring they have a memorable stay through genuine Irish hospitality, warmth, and continuous re-investment in our hotels.



Responsibilities
  • Ensure all guests receive a warm and friendly welcome throughout the hotel and on arrival into service areas, meeting, greeting, and seating guests as required.
  • Offer the highest level of guest service in all service areas, maintaining agreed 4* standards at all times.
  • Anticipate guest needs and provide assistance where necessary, being attentive to the smallest details.
  • Develop in-depth knowledge of your department and products, including opening times, menus, beverages, and pricing.
  • Take orders promptly and accurately, ensuring knowledge of allergen awareness, dietary requirements, and product awareness.
  • Maintain effective communication to deliver the correct standard of service.
  • Recommend and upsell menu items, wine, and beverages, promoting sales throughout the hotel.
  • Ensure all glassware and tableware is thoroughly polished, salt and pepper cellars are cleaned and filled, tables and chairs are disinfected and cleaned, and all menus cleaned, prior to service or seating guests at tables.
  • Maintain immaculate service areas during after-service, ensuring bins are emptied, floors mopped/hoovered, dirty linen removed and stored appropriately, and glass surfaces cleaned.
  • Ensure counter tops, table tops and bases, and furniture are clean at all times.
  • Ensure all service areas are immaculate at all times for weddings, events, guests, and viewing appointments.
  • Be aware of all total hotel facilities.
  • Promptly address and communicate any issues or complaints to your supervisor or manager.
  • Leave enough stock or mise en place for the next shift.
