Senior Cost Accounting Specialist

The role of Senior Cost Accounting Specialist is critical in developing and maintaining accurate cost standards, analyzing manufacturing variances, and providing strategic insights that support operations, profitability, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Establish, update, and monitor standard costs for all manufactured products, including materials, labor, and overhead.
  • Analyze manufacturing cost variances and provide root cause analysis and actionable recommendations.
  • Support the Sales Team quoting activities and new product development initiatives.
  • Prepare and present insightful financial and operational performance metrics to support strategic decision-making including capital project analyses.

This role requires a strong understanding of standard costing, variance analysis, and inventory accounting, as well as proficiency with ERP systems and advanced Excel skills.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA, CMA, or MBA a plus)
  • 5+ years of progressive cost accounting experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably with custom or engineered-to-order products.
