Our organisation is seeking an experienced professional to spearhead testing efforts, manage test rigs and develop software.

The Role
  • Test plans must be planned, organised and managed to meet the objectives of the overall business strategy.
  • Operate and control test rigs and supporting equipment.
  • Configure, maintain and troubleshoot the rigs and equipment for optimal performance.
  • Coordinate and present test plans. Recommend follow up actions based on experience.
  • Analyse and present test data to drive the development of products.
  • Design and develop software for test rigs as required.
  • Support the development of new equipment throughout the design process including scope requirements, technical specifications of components, CAD work and build/commissioning.
  • Manage team activities, personnel and resources to ensure cost effective and timely delivery of the company's objectives.
  • Lead and motivate team members to meet deadlines. Support the professional development of direct reports.
The Person
  • Results driven personality with excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Minimum ME/MSc in Mechanical Engineering or similar.
  • Significant previous experience (5+ years) as Test Engineer Team Lead or Development Team Lead.
  • Excellent understanding of controls and instrumentation.
  • 10+ years relevant industrial experience in mechanical design of machines, systems, engines, products or similar.
  • Automotive and/or heavy engineering industry experience.
  • Preferably hydraulic systems design experience.
