Healthcare Access Specialist

\

A key position has become available for a skilled and motivated individual to lead the implementation of patient access solutions in a fast-paced healthcare environment.

\

The successful candidate will report directly to the EHR Business Stream Lead and be responsible for the strategic and tactical leadership of the Patient Access workstream. This involves ensuring alignment with clinical operations, financial systems, and overall programme goals.

\

This role is ideal for an experienced professional who can deliver the new Patient access workstream within UPMC Ireland and implement the programme within the project scope and governance.

\

Responsibilities include:

\
  • \
  • Establishing and leading a project team and allocating responsibilities\
  • Collaborating with other clinical workstream leads where required\
  • Leading testing activities for patient access modules, including integrated and user acceptance testing (UAT)\
  • Ensuring patient access-facing modules are integrated with other clinical systems to support seamless care delivery and documentation\
  • Championing change management among patient access, addressing workflow impacts, practice changes, and documentation requirements\
  • Maintaining accurate and up-to-date project documentation\
  • Developing and implementing training programmes for staff to ensure effective use of patient access solutions\
  • Providing strategic guidance on the development and implementation of patient access strategies\
  • Collaborating with stakeholders to identify and prioritise business needs and develop solutions that meet those needs\\/ul">

Required Skills and Qualifications

To be considered for this role, you must have:

\
  • \
  • A Bachelor's degree in Health Administration, Business, or a related field (or equivalent experience)\
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in Patient Access or front-end revenue cycle operations\
  • Minimum 2 years' experience supporting or contributing to departmental implementations, preferably involving ERP/EHR platforms\
  • Familiarity with patient access workflows, clinical safety practices, and quality reporting standards\
  • Strong project coordination, stakeholder engagement, and change management skills\
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with stakeholders at all levels\\/ul">
