Healthcare Assistants Job DescriptionJob Overview:

We are seeking a Healthcare Assistant to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality care and support to residents in various locations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead, train, and mentor new staff members
  • Work closely with nurse managers and staff nurses to maintain high standards of care
  • Undertake hygiene and dress care functions for residents
  • Ensure safe manual handling and transfer of residents
  • Deliver food and assist with feeding residents
  • Return used trays and dishes to the kitchen, keeping residents and rooms tidy
  • Make beds and change linens
  • Provide incontinence and toilet care, including managing catheter bags
  • Assist trained nurses with psychological and social support
  • Maintain vigilance over residents' dignity, comfort, safety, and whereabouts
  • Adhere to hygiene, health, and safety regulations
  • Any other duties as required
Requirements:
  • Relevant healthcare qualification (Nursing, Allied Health, Medical) OR mentoring, training, or supervisory experience in healthcare
  • QQI Level 5 Award in Healthcare
  • Minimum 2 years of care experience
  • Proven track record as a high-performing healthcare assistant
  • Excellent communication and personal care skills
  • Knowledge of healthcare standards, HIQA, infection prevention, etc.

Working Conditions:

Full-time, 39 hours per week. Competitive pay rate €30,000.00 per annum.
