Senior DevOps Engineer - Automation Expert


Description

We are seeking a seasoned DevOps Engineer with a strong background in automation to join our team. As a key member of our engineering group, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining highly technical projects that facilitate automation, monitoring, reliability, and efficiency of our platform.

The ideal candidate will have a proven history working with SaaS products in leading cloud providers and experience with infrastructure as code, public clouds (AWS or GCP), and orchestration technologies such as Docker, HashiCorp Nomad, Heroku, and Kubernetes.

You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including product management, security, and wider UKG teams, to plan and execute against the developer platform roadmap. Your expertise in systems-level programming languages (Golang/Python) and CI/CD tooling (GitHub, Terraform, Ansible, Grafana) will be invaluable in driving continuous improvement and innovation.

In this role, you will analyze metrics, performance, and reliability of systems/applications, take action on them, and promote and provide continuous improvements to our Release Management. You will also contribute to the design, development, and maintenance of our developer platform, ensuring its usability, reliability, and scalability.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop high-quality automation solutions to improve platform efficiency and user experience
  • Analyze and optimize system performance, reliability, and scalability
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to plan and execute against the developer platform roadmap
  • Contribute to the design, development, and maintenance of our developer platform
  • Promote and provide continuous improvements to our Release Management

Requirements
  • Proven experience in DevOps/SRE/Platform Engineering
  • Strong background in automation, infrastructure as code, and public clouds (AWS or GCP)
  • Experience with orchestration technologies such as Docker, HashiCorp Nomad, Heroku, and Kubernetes
  • Systems-level programming language expertise (Golang/Python)
  • CI/CD tooling experience (GitHub, Terraform, Ansible, Grafana)
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience
