Category Expertise:

Ornua's Warehousing & Logistics category requires a seasoned professional to drive overall business objectives. Key responsibilities include managing supplier relationships, developing a low-cost supply base, and driving competitive products in a highly competitive market.



Key Areas of Responsibility:
  1. Develop a Category Strategy aligned with the procurement and business plan.
  2. Understand product portfolio and spend under management for segmented supply chain solutions.
  3. Gain expertise in spend category markets and dynamics.
  4. Support Warehouse & Logistics category procurement development and ongoing management.
  5. Assist in creating a Warehouse Capacity Plan with Supply Chain Operations.
  6. Analyse current/future market transport conditions and define contingency plans to manage risk.
  7. Develop contracting processes and frameworks consistent with legal, regulatory, and business requirements.
  8. Function as liaison and key contact within business units to align commercial relationships between suppliers and business requirements.
  9. Deliver cost improvement through sourcing plans and RFI/P & Auctions execution.
  10. Manage transactional approvals and process/policy compliance.
  11. Escalate supplier relationship concerns to internal stakeholders.
  12. Provide commercial leadership and market insight on procurement trends and developments for assigned categories.
  13. Participate in procurement initiatives to improve processes and procedures, leveraging e-procurement tools.
  14. Manage Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) for key suppliers.
  15. Occasional travel domestically and internationally.


Requirements:
  1. Stakeholder management skills across all organisation levels.
  2. Commercially astute.
  3. Proven Category Management Skills, ideally with knowledge in Freight & Warehousing.
  4. Strong decision-making and team management skills.
  5. Negotiation and conflict management skills to resolve issues at all levels of management.
  6. Ability to define action plans and implement corrective actions where required.
  7. Experience leveraging e-procurement tools, planning, and leading RFI and RFP's, e-Auctions.
  8. Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, or equivalent.
  9. CIPS or APICS certification advantageous.
  10. 2-3 years of procurement/supply chain experience in relevant categories.
  11. Dairy Industry experience and FMCG industry knowledge are preferential.
