Associate Cost Consultant Job Description

The role of Associate Cost Consultant involves providing accurate cost advice and reporting to clients, delivering commissions and professional assignments to the highest standard, working proactively with project leaders to set objectives and priorities, maintaining effective communication and financial control across projects, undertaking commercial management services with minimal supervision, and representing Currie & Brown professionally with clients, stakeholders, and industry peers.

As an Associate Cost Consultant, you will work on high-profile MEP and data centre projects, providing trusted cost advice, delivering commercial excellence, and supporting our reputation as a preferred service provider. You will help our clients achieve exceptional outcomes while developing your skills in a collaborative, innovation-led environment.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • BSc in Quantity Surveying or equivalent qualification
  • MRICS / MSCSI qualified (or working towards)
  • Experience in MEP or CSA projects within data centres or other complex sectors (healthcare, offices, residential, hospitality, fit out, refurbishment)
  • Strong Excel skills and proficiency in CostX (or other cost planning software)
  • Understanding of sustainability and data skills (e.g., carbon assessment, Power BI)
  • Contract administration skills
  • Pre- and post-contract experience
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and client-facing skills
