Job Overview
PACE Project Controls Solutions is seeking a highly skilled Senior Mechanical Engineer to join their team in Cork. As a key member of the project, you will play a critical role in ensuring the successful completion of a multi-million project.

About the Role
This challenging and rewarding opportunity involves working as a Senior Mechanical Engineer on a large-scale project. Your primary responsibility will be to lead the mechanical engineering team and ensure that all design management processes are followed. You will also be responsible for commissioning and on-going monitoring of the project engineering process to ensure compliance and mentoring of junior engineers when required.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure design management process is followed by either taking on the role directly or appointing an individual responsible for this role.
  • Ensure commissioning lead process is followed by either taking on the role directly or appointing an individual responsible for this role.
  • On-going monitoring of the project engineering process to ensure compliance and mentoring of project engineers when required.
  • Structured mentoring of graduate engineers in line with the plan agreed with the Engineering Manager.
  • Assist BUL in resolving any significant technical issues that cannot be resolved on site.
  • Monthly progress reporting to the BUL and Engineering Manager.
  • Assist BUL with recruiting and appointing engineering support to individual projects.
  • Technical review of tenders when required, manage outsourcing of review on larger tenders.
  • Attend tender interviews as required to promote technical capabilities.
  • Highlight emerging technologies and technically assess innovative suggestions in the region.

Necessary Requirements
  • 3rd level qualification in Mechanical Engineering / Building Services Engineering.
  • Ideally, the Mechanical Engineering Lead will possess 8+ years relevant experience, of which 5+ years have been spent in a design/consultancy capacity.
  • Data Centre and/or Pharmaceutical experience will be advantageous, but strong commercial experience will also be considered.
  • Excellent communicator with strong interpersonal skills and communicates with impact.
  • Excellent record-keeping and administration skills.
