Director of Nursing Position Overview
This is a pivotal role in upholding excellence in person-centred care, clinical oversight, and continuous innovation.
Main Responsibilities:
- Lead daily clinical operations with empathy and professionalism.
- Promote respect, inclusion, and safety for residents and staff.
- Drive quality improvement and ensure full compliance with HIQA regulations.
- Support staff development through mentoring and training initiatives.
- Oversee risk management, safeguarding, and best practices in elder care.
Essential Qualifications:
- Registered General Nurse (RGN) with NMBI registration.
- Management qualification in health or a related field.
- Evidence of continuous professional development.
- Minimum 3 years post-graduate experience in Older Person Care within the past 6 years.
- At least 3 years of management experience in health or social care.
Desirable:
- Postgraduate diploma in Gerontology.
- Additional management qualifications.
- Strong IT and digital skills.
- Awareness of international best practices in elder care.
