About Us:
MHI are now recruiting a Quantity Surveyor for their manufacturing plant and offices in Co. Cavan. This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic team and contribute to the success of the company.

Role Overview:
We are looking for a highly skilled Quantity Surveyor to join our team. As a key member of the construction team, you will be responsible for preparing tender documents, analyzing tender returns, and developing bills of quantities.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Prepare tender documents for submission.
  • Analyze tender returns and develop bills of quantities from drawings or tenders.
  • Price/forecast the cost of materials needed for projects.
  • Track changes to design and/or construction work and adjust budget projections accordingly.
  • Procure services of contractors and/or subcontractors, negotiate rates, and manage accounts.
  • Measure and value work done on site.
  • Prepare, submit, and agree interim and final valuations with client representatives.
  • Evaluate contract obligations by stakeholders.
  • Negotiate effectively.
  • Have a good working knowledge of MS Excel and ability to learn specialist software.
  • Detailed report writing skills.
  • Excellent relationship-building and interpersonal skills.
  • Attention to detail and methodical approach to work.

About You:
We are looking for someone with relevant experience working as a QS and qualified to degree level. Experience working in construction in a similar role – minimum of five years – would be beneficial. Strong skills in planning, organizational, and time management are essential. Good communication skills with ability to build sound business relationships with all stakeholders are also required. A good work ethic and attitude, forward thinker, commercially and Contractually aware, and highly organized individual are ideal characteristics.
