The position of Clinical Nurse Specialist, Urology at Bon Secours Hospital Limerick at Barringtons is a key role in the delivery of high-quality patient care. As a member of the urology team, you will play a pivotal part in service planning, development, and coordination. This includes managing activities from initial consultation to pre-assessment and discharge, liaising with consultants, nursing staff, and other healthcare professionals.
This leadership role requires strong communication skills to convey assessment results, treatment plans, and recommendations to the team and relevant stakeholders. Additionally, you will be responsible for assessing and responding to patient complaints within a reasonable timeframe.
You will also participate in identifying, developing, and delivering education programs for nursing and healthcare staff. Furthermore, you will exercise authority and coordinate the functions of the urology services, including but not limited to bladder instillations, urodynamic pressure flow and uroflow testing, female and male catheterization, self-catheterization training, and Lithotripsy service.
A key aspect of this role is providing staff leadership and motivation to foster good working relations and work performance. You will also contribute to the hospital's accreditation processes and quality management systems to ensure compliance with safety standards for the urology service.
