Researcher Position in Smart Energy Services and Regulatory Innovation

The Tyndall National Institute invites applications for a postdoctoral researcher position within its Smart Energy Services and Regulatory Innovation (SESRI) team. The successful candidate will contribute to the development of innovative solutions for the energy sector, focusing on smart energy services and regulatory innovations.

About the Role:

  • This is a two-year full-time fixed-term research position with potential extension pending further funding.
  • The appointee will lead research tasks in European and national projects, working collaboratively with other teams within the SESRI group.
  • Key responsibilities include contributing to the vision and direction of smart energy services and energy policy research, leading tasks in collaborative projects, and ensuring compliance with quality management systems.

Essential Skills and Qualifications:

  • A PhD degree in a relevant field, such as energy engineering or a related discipline.
  • Strong demonstrable experience in at least 2 of the following areas: energy auditing, energy efficiency, building energy performance, energy performance contracting, energy services, energy policy, or building services engineering.
  • At least 2 years' experience working in a research environment, preferably with Horizon Europe or LIFE-CET projects.
