Industrial Automation Engineer

We are seeking an experienced Industrial Automation Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in working on and delivering automation projects of varying complexity.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Proficient in the use of PLC packages mainly Beckhoff preferred. (Allen Bradley & Omron beneficial)
  • Have excellent fault finding and problem-solving skills
  • Design and execute control systems for industrial equipment, from concept to debugging PLC programs.
  • Install and validate new or upgraded equipment into operation assisting validation teams
  • Work as part of the digitalisation team to work on factory of the future projects
  • Ensure compliance with and maintenance of SOPs and technical documentation.
  • Develop and execute upgrades on current equipment to improve functionality, output, and safety etc.
  • Manage external relationships with technology providers & integrators.
  • Design test equipment and create validated test procedures for process testing to demonstrate compliance with internal and external requirements such as ISO standards.
  • Leads design activities with internal and external contributors.
  • Support and communicate effectively with the automation manager with defining work packages, planning, and organising automation activities.
  • Capable of working independently to scope, investigate, and identify key technology drivers to complex automation challenges.
  • Identify improvement opportunities and provide business case analysis to quantify and justify automation projects.
  • Analysis of data from proof of concepts, leading to the development, implementation, and verification of approved solutions & technology.
  • Development of detailed URS documents, engineering documents, & protocols.
  • Carry out detailed design reviews with external vendors on custom automation solutions.
  • Support systems for machine networks to ensure site backups and recovery procedures.
  • Provide support to run and maintain the automation systems in production.
  • Safety and integration of equipment to be carried out as per best practice, delivering standard equipment.
