Energy and Carbon Reduction Specialist

Job Overview:

As an Energy and Carbon Reduction Specialist, you will play a pivotal role in promoting energy efficiency and reducing carbon emissions across various healthcare premises.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitoring and reporting on energy consumption to identify areas for improvement.
  • Supporting the development of energy awareness management teams in designated locations.
  • Collaborating with existing teams to build on best practices and establish new initiatives.
  • Compiling action plans for each location to drive energy reduction efforts.
  • Running staff education and energy awareness programs to foster a culture of sustainability.
  • Progressing display energy certificates and compiling opportunities for retrofit projects.
  • Using nationally agreed tools to assess project benefits and progressing funding applications.
  • Managing minor capital works, including specification, design, procurement, and completion.
  • Reviewing metered energy and water usage data to inform decision-making.
  • Providing regular activity and expenditure reports to stakeholders.
  • Contribute to the annual energy minor works program and undertake other duties as assigned.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will possess excellent analytical and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team. A strong understanding of energy management principles and experience working in a similar role are highly desirable.
