
Helping Hands: Occupational Therapist Opportunity

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Occupational Therapist to join our team within the Acute General Medicine ward.
About the RoleThe successful candidate will work closely with patients, families, and the healthcare team to deliver high-quality occupational therapy services that promote recovery, independence, and safe discharge planning.
Key Responsibilities- Comprehensive Assessment: Conduct thorough assessments to identify patients' abilities and limitations in activities of daily living (ADLs).
- Individualized Treatment Planning: Develop and implement evidence-based interventions to support recovery, optimize independence, and facilitate discharge.
- Discharge Planning and Environmental Recommendations: Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to ensure timely and safe discharge, including home environment assessments and recommendations for adaptive equipment.
- Education and Advocacy: Educate patients, families, and carers on strategies for managing functional limitations and advocate for patient-centered care throughout the admission.
- Staff Grade OT:
- BSc/MSc in Occupational Therapy (CORU registered)
- Minimum 1 year of acute hospital experience
- Strong clinical reasoning and communication skills
- Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team
- Senior OT:
- BSc/MSc in Occupational Therapy (CORU registered)
- Minimum 3 years post-qualification experience (acute experience strongly preferred)
- Demonstrated leadership, mentoring, and advanced clinical skills
- Proven ability to manage a complex caseload independently
