Dedicated Microbiologist Required for Locum Position in Dublin

We are seeking an experienced Medical Scientist with a background in Microbiology to join our laboratory team on a locum basis. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to essential diagnostic services in a fast-paced clinical environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform routine and specialized microbiological techniques including culture, identification, and susceptibility testing of clinical specimens.
- Ensure compliance with ISO 15189 standards and internal quality control protocols.
- Collaborate with clinical teams and laboratory colleagues to support accurate and timely diagnostics.
- Maintain meticulous records and participate in quality improvement initiatives.
- BSc in Biomedical Science or equivalent qualification recognized by CORU.
- CORU registration.
- Post-qualification experience in clinical microbiology.
- Strong analytical skills and ability to work independently.
- Excellent communication and organizational abilities.
Familiarity with automated microbiology systems such as MALDI-TOF, BD Phoenix, VITEK is desirable as well as previous locum experience in Ireland and familiarity with infection control protocols and antimicrobial stewardship.
