Financial Accountant Opportunity

We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic financial accountant to join our finance team. This role offers an excellent opportunity for someone to gain hands-on experience in a high-performing finance team within a leading international law firm.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare Financial Reports: Prepare monthly management accounts, including commentary and variance analysis.
  • Perform Reconciliations: Perform reconciliations and analysis of balance sheet accounts.
  • Review Intercompany Reconciliations: Conduct monthly review of intercompany reconciliations.
  • Manage Consolidated Accounts: Prepare consolidated management accounts for Irish entities.
  • Support Budgeting Process: Support the budgeting and forecasting processes.
  • Audit Engagement: Manage year-end audit engagements and corporation tax return submissions.
  • Liaise with Regulatory Bodies: Liaise with the Law Society of Ireland for the timely submission of the annual reporting accountant report.
  • VAT Compliance: Ensure VAT and VIES returns are completed and submitted on time.
  • Ad Hoc Finance Projects: Assist with ad hoc finance projects as directed by the Finance Manager.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • 1–2 years' post-qualification experience, ideally within a law firm or professional services environment.
  • Strong academic background with solid technical accounting skills.

Skills and Attributes:

  • Advanced Excel skills; proficiency with full MS Office suite.
  • Excellent attention to detail with strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Confident communicator, able to build effective working relationships across departments.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Professional, discreet, and capable of handling sensitive information.
  • Self-motivated team player with a proactive approach and desire to learn.
