Role Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Pyschiatric Registrar to join our team at St. Patrick's Mental Health Services.

The successful candidate will have completed undergraduate medical training, be registered or eligible for registration with the Irish Medical Council, and possess excellent communication skills and interpersonal skills in interactions with service users, carers, and other disciplines.

Main Responsibilities

  • Admitting or becoming familiar with admissions details and previous clinical information of all service users under your care.
  • Implementing a treatment plan in conjunction with your consultant and MDT members.
  • Conducting investigations and taking initiative to monitor treatments (such as Lithium) commenced in hospital.
  • Ensuring accurate and clear prescribing of treatments for in- and out-patients.
  • Compiling detailed and clear entries to admission documentation and continuous service user records.

Key Requirements

  • A basic knowledge of psychiatry and psychological processes.
  • A working knowledge of the Irish Health Service, psychiatry services, and psychiatry training.
  • Evidence of interest in a career in psychiatry and commitment to the same.
