About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced software engineer to contribute to our Engagement Channel solutions. Our team is comprised of peers who collaborate closely to build high-quality software, given our constraints.

This team plays a crucial part in helping customers cultivate positive workplaces through technology that facilitates appreciation and recognition. We design and deliver innovative solutions to promote employee engagement and growth.

Tech Requirements:

Java 8, Python, Spring, RESTful Web Services, ActiveMQ/Kafka, AWS, Kubernetes, Terraform, API, Oracle, Postgres, NoSQL DB, PL/SQL, JMeter, Jenkins, Sonar, Maven, Git, Docker/Containerization, JS, and React-based frameworks.

Your Key Responsibilities:

  • Influence technical strategy and lead design engineering activities for your squad, aligning with strategic objectives.
  • Break down large features and epics into smaller items to enable efficient work among your squad.
  • Co-coordinate complex deployments and improve developer experience, introducing new ideas unconstrained by existing approaches.
  • Enable the team to work efficiently towards their goals (e.g., assist your Engineering Manager in prioritizing work, identifying dependencies, interpreting team feedback).

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Ideal 6+ years of back-end development experience.
  • Develop web-based applications at the enterprise level.
  • Problem-solving strength: interpret data and business strategy, understanding constraints and trade-offs.
  • Mentor other team members on best practices, latest updates, and version, fostering consistent coding styles and guidelines.
  • Experience with Java or Python RESTful API design.
  • AWS and cloud-first applications experience is beneficial.
  • React or other front-end framework experience is advantageous.
