Job Overview

We are seeking a seasoned Compliance professional to lead our regulatory efforts in Ireland. This key role will be responsible for ensuring the Firm's, funds', and crew's adherence to Irish and other regulatory obligations.

The successful candidate will have significant experience within a compliance function, preferably within fund management. An appreciation of the UK and/or US regulatory environment would be an advantage.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, approve, and manage a Compliance Strategy that ensures the firm's, funds', and crew's adherence to Irish and other regulatory obligations.
  • Manage the Compliance Function, including oversight of the recruitment, training, and performance management of crew.
  • Liaise with other internal functions to ensure seamless cooperation.
  • Participate in the development of departmental and project budgets.
  • Ensure that Compliance department policies and procedures are designed, maintained, and reviewed annually.
  • Oversee Fund activities undertaken on behalf of the Irish funds by both internal and external service providers.
  • Provide appropriate oversight of the regulated activities of the European branches of VGIL.
  • Establish the day-to-day oversight framework for achieving compliance.
  • Review and maintain regulated firm/fund fitness and propriety registration and compliance registers.

Requirements:

  • Significant Irish financial services experience within a compliance function.
  • An undergraduate degree or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
  • Proficient in the use of core Microsoft Office packages such as Word and Excel.
  • A strong understanding of UCITS Fund regulations and conduct of business/distribution rules.
