Technical Services Chemist

We are seeking an experienced Technical Services Chemist to provide technical support services to both internal and external customers.

Salary: Negotiable DOE

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity for a Technical Services Chemist who will report to the Quality Manager. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing an efficient technical support service, attending Operations Meeting daily to troubleshoot current issues and propose efficiencies and improvements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical support to internal colleagues and customers.
  • Design and deliver customer training and seminars.
  • Provide internal Calibration Services.
  • Maintain current accreditations (equipment and procedures), and develop scope as required.
  • Develop new products and services to the customer.
  • Analytical method development and validation.
  • Investigate customer complaints as required.
  • Contribute to daily operations meetings at a high level of technical expertise.
  • Engage in the development of the new Metrology Centre.
Qualifications and Experience

The ideal candidate will have a Chemistry qualification with industrial experience, preferably a PhD. A broad range of scientific experience with high-level customer interaction is essential.

Requirements:

  • Strong technical knowledge and ability.
  • In-depth understanding of ISO17025:2017, ISO17034 and ISO9001:2015.
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Scientific approach to problem-solving.
  • Organisational and prioritisation skills.
  • Strong communication and persuasion skills.
