Occupational Therapist - Mental Health Service

We are seeking an Occupational Therapist to provide a mental health service. This is a challenging and rewarding role that involves working with individuals who have a range of mental health conditions.

  • The successful candidate will work alongside OT colleagues and a wider multidisciplinary team, assessing, diagnosing, planning, implementing and evaluating treatment/intervention programmes for clients.
  • Collaboration with residents, family, carers and other staff in goal setting and treatment/intervention planning.
  • Participation in the multi-disciplinary/healthcare team and work in co-operation and collaboration with team members.
  • Management, participation and key role in practice education of student therapists and promotion of teaching/training/support of others as appropriate.

The ideal candidate will possess excellent planning and organisation skills and relevant post-qualification clinical experience in a mental health/psychiatric setting. A recognised qualification as an Occupational Therapist and registration with CORU or eligibility for same is also essential.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation and evaluation of treatment/intervention programmes for clients according to professional standards.
  • Collaboration with residents, family, carers and other staff in goal setting and treatment/intervention planning.
Requirements:
  • Holds a recognised qualification as an Occupational Therapist and registration with CORU or eligibility for same.
  • Ideal relevant post-qualification clinical experience in a mental health/psychiatric setting.
  • Excellent planning and organisation skills.
